A bicycle frame, a porcelain seed, a child’s backpack, a brick: Ai Weiwei repeatedly begins with an object that appears ordinary. Repetition changes its scale and pressure. One thing becomes a crowd; a crowd becomes an image of labor, memory, surveillance, or resistance.

The works gathered here move between handmade traditions and industrial systems. Their materials carry social histories before they enter the gallery: porcelain from Jingdezhen, bicycles associated with everyday urban life, salvaged trunks, school bags, infant formula, iron, and toy bricks.

This is not a complete survey. It is a small, independently researched constellation—an invitation to follow recurring questions across different forms: Who is remembered? Who gets to speak? What happens when a familiar object is made strange, monumental, or public?
